This blog is dedicated to the memory of my dear friend and pastor, Chuck Glass. Pastor Chuck was authentic with a zest for life that was not easily matched. I had the pleasure of knowing him for many years and serving with him at our church.
Pastor Chuck believed that we could all do something. He was always doing something. Being the good. In fact, in his final moments on this earth, he was en route to distribute materials and offer assistance to Hurricane Laura victims in Louisiana when he was tragically killed in a vehicle accident. If anything, he taught us to live fiercely.
It is my fervent prayer that Pastor Chuck’s life and death continues to drive me to impact the world around me. So this is my feeble attempt at being the good. Showing encouragement. Sharing my heart.
The verse we have held to during this tragedy is 1 Corinthians 11:1, “And you should imitate me as I imitate Christ.” He left a tremendous example for us to follow.
Thank you for joining me on my journey. As I have grieved and allowed God to speak to me in the stillness, I have come to realize two things. The first is that I am unbroken. Though tragedy strikes and winds blow fiercely around me, my hiding place is found in my precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice and daily renewal in Him, He has pieced me back together. The second realization is that I am undone. My work is not finished. As He holds me together, there is still more that I must do. And so I will move forward in His will. Unbroken and undone.
