As I sit pondering my experiences this weekend, I am truly just at a loss for words. To keep it simple and mild, “God is good.” Even so, that doesn’t begin to express the awe and excitement I feel in my bones over events that have transpired, which I won’t spend time elaborating on now. For now, I’m going to just enjoy the experience of being speechless and in wonder of my Creator and Sustainer.
When I don’t know what to say, I either keep quiet or I go to the source of all my truth... The Word of God. Jesus Himself is described as the Word. His words are better than mine anyway, so as I reflect on His very real presence in my life, I pray you find strength and encouragement-maybe even feel Him near you-in the following words... from the Word Himself.
Matthew 7:7-11 NLT
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
Now, this is only one small bit of encouragement from Christ. And, of course, the entire Bible is God’s Word to us. So if this encourages you, I’d say check out the rest of the story. Start in John. That’s when the “Word became flesh.” Ask. Seek. Knock. You may find yourself speechless.
